Chapter 4 - New Arrival

Curling up with Alec makes me happier than I ever thought possible. My fiancĂ©,  wow there was a point I never thought I would say that word, can always bring a smile to my face.
I've been feeling out of energy lately so I took some time and started making myself a fresh breakfast every day.
Unfortunately, it really didn't seem to help. I just couldn't seem to wake up no matter what I did. So I decided to go to the hospital and get it checked out to make sure it was nothing serious.
Turns out it wasn't serious. It was unexpected and amazing!
I couldn't get over it! A baby wasn't exactly what I had planned for this time in my life but I can deny being extremely happy about it.
I decided that I should tell Alec before I started getting to big.
"Alec there is something I wanted to tell you about."
"Are you ok? I know you've been a bit worried about being so tired. What did the doctor's say?"
"I'm fine," I said and I couldn't keep the smile from my voice. "Alec, I'm pregnant."
I think his face tells you all you needed to know about his reaction. He was thrilled. I know he'll make a great dad.
With all promotions and now with the baby I decided that it was time for some me time. I went to the spa to get a quick massage.
The masseuse told me that I should be drinking plenty of fluids after my massage so I went to the bar that was part of salon. It was a really nice day and the view down to the sea was amazing.
I do feel like I am getting bigger by the minute. It seems like I shouldn't be showing so much so quickly but I guess these things always go quicker that you expect.
The town is full of nice people and although I'm on maternity leave I thought it wouldn't be a bad thing get to know a few more people in town. I still say they are all just super friendly. Jeramy Kauker was no exception. And so funny too.
He was really sweet when I told him about the baby. He was feeling and taking to my tummy and being a real sweetheart.
Until he went a bit too far.
Turns out he really just had a thing for pregnant ladies and was just trying it on.
Aside from that rather creepy moment I was finding that I was at peace in pregnancy.
I found a great book at the book store "Totally Preggers: An Expecting Mother's Tale". It was so engrossing that I didn't even make it home. I just sat there at the park in the sun reading.
I go home and realised how much it taught me. I actually feel like I might be ready to be a mother. I thought that Alec should read it too. I know it was written for mothers but we hadn't spent much time together during the pregnancy and I really wanted him to feel like he was involved.
I guess I waited just a little to long to try and get him involved in the pregnancy. Wow this really hurts.
I raced to the hospital as fast as I could and not long after came out with my absolutely the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. My little daughter Mya.
